'Twas a December morning...
You couldn't hear a sound.
No one except me and my wife were around.
We were snuggling and spooning, with nothing to do.
The first time in almost a year, it was just us two.
When all of a sudden,
I rose with a ruckus.
There is no baby or puppy among us!?!
No diapers to change?
No Luna to walk?
Just me and my wife?
To sit and to talk?
We didn't know what to do with this space.
So we laid there alone,
And enjoyed our peace.
We stayed up late, and we drank.
We ate, slowly and steady.
We slept till we wanted.
And took our time getting ready.
Sometimes you need to just get away.
Thank goodness for friends' weddings, and a great weekend at play.
Congrats to Ken & Cristie!!
Love it! Happy Holidays guys!

ReplyDeleteby the way, stick to prose - that poem needs some work - but again another great entry in the continuing chronicles.
